Bridget Bross grew up in central Pennsylvania. Her first car was a ’66 Mustang and she studied art history in college. Bridget has been an arts marketer for over 15 years, and it just so happens she cannot stop writing. Poetry was something she first tried in high school, developed in college, and remains the medium she gets the most joy from today. It’s the first foray she had into using words as therapy and that strategy still serves her well.
Upon receipt of a breast cancer diagnosis in November, 2020 she began chemotherapy, and her first support group–a memoir writing class called, “The Write Moment” facilitated by Debbie Fedderly. Bridget’s tumor responded well to treatment and she was determined cancer free in June, 2021. Ms. Fedderly published a collection of works from her students called, “The Write Moment: A Collection of Memoir Stories and Prompts to Inspire Your Writing” in 2023, and two of Bridget’s short stories are included.
In January 2024 Bridget starting writing, “Living in Story Mode: Learning Life Lessons From a Passed Mother’s Journal.” In this journal/response grief memoir she considers her mother’s journal entries and reflects,
“Mom has been gone for 20 years, and I crave her nurturing more than ever. What can I learn from reading the stories in her journals? Could the words she left behind be the key to reconnecting with her, now that I am almost the same age she was when she died of ovarian cancer?”
